Exciting 18 - Teen-romance by Kahea Chapter 1

,

Drop-dead gorgeous blue eyes were the first thing that Britt noticed about her mysterious male acquaintance. Most people travel in groups; it was as simple as that.

Britt had just started working at the town’s local coffee shop, again, when Mr. Mysterious showed up there, looking at her. It’s hot and humid and bright out there, but inside the comfort of the coffee shop’s doors it’s a totally different story when you walk inside. Everywhere you went, you could just see people sweating and panting from the heat. These were people that weren’t doing anything too much strenuous activities.

Sweat glistened all over his forehead and face. His hair was looking rough and only accented his Asian looking eyes, which had already popped without the help of his hair.
His eyes were this certain shade of blue, like a big and bright translucent sapphire. Something about the color made his eyes his best feature, by far. No girl, or woman, could resist staring deeply into his eyes. Hey.” He commented casually in Britt’s general direction.

“Hi. May I help you, sir?” Britt could feel herself getting tense. She hoped that it didn’t show to her costumer.
“My name is Brittny, or Britt, for short.”
“I’m Luke. It was nice to meet you, Britt.”
“Luke’s voice was just like a sweet and soft melody playing over, and over again, in her ears.

Britt glanced up to look at Luke, but he was busy writing something down. Just then, Luke and Britt’s gaze locked. The moment that their eyes first locked, after they exchanged names, would be treasured by each of them forever, only in different ways.

Certainly you may Britt. That was your one question. I mean, I’m only a low-paid waitress, at a small town’s lone coffee shop, in a place that most don’t even realize exists?”
“Luke stated cheerfully back at her.

For a moment more, they held each other’s gazed…Moments later, the door rang, alerting Britt that another potential costumer had just walked in.
“Hold that thought! I’ll be right back, I promise.”
Gracefully, Britt walked back behind the counter towards the front register. Britt wondered if Luke knew the lady standing in front of her because he turned his head away pretty quick. At first, she thought it was her, but… it looked like Luke was reading something, except his arm was violently moving, which helped Britt form the assumption that he was at writing something, once again.

“May I help you, ma’am?” Britt asked as she turned herself towards the lady standing in front of the register.
“I was wondering if you have seen one of my dear and personal friends in this…” she stumbled for the words.

“Coffee shop,” Britt supplied for her. Never mind, I see him.” She started to head in the direction of the corner booth that Britt had been sitting at, with Luke, only a few moments before this uncomfortable encounter.
“Luke, honey, did you get whatever it was that you needed to get?” she asked in a hushed and anxious tone. Well, I’m sorry about that. Fine, go, and hurry Luke! Britt, I’m sorry that I have to leave in such a rush, but I must go now, my fair lady. I hope to see you around town, maybe?”

“I hope so, too. Bye, Luke. Britt got back to work as quickly as she could, but there was something about Luke that stopped her from doing just that for lengthy periods of time. Luke’s memory was embedded in her brain, and he had managed to make today a special day.
She remained suspicious about the woman that came in earlier that afternoon looking for Luke. Britt had felt a very negative vibe coming from Ms. Perfect-little-lady when she walked by her.

Britt continued with her day as normally as she could. One of the other waitresses that were working with her today, Brandi, asked if she was okay. She commented that Britt had a certain hop in her step that hadn’t been there earlier.
Britt thanked him before she started walking out the shop’s doors.
Britt headed towards her house downtown. As soon as Britt unlocked the front door, the phone started its annoying high pitched ringing sound.
“Hello. May I help you?”

“Is this Britt? I’m Brandi, from the coffee shop.”
“Oh, hi. Thanks Brandi. Britt could feel her pulse growing rapid just at the mention of Luke, just as a nameless soul that she had met that day.
“How do I make sure the guys on the night shift don’t clean this certain table until tomorrow?”

“See Britt,’ on it. Bye!”
“No problem. Bye.”
Britt went into her room and rummaged through her draw to get her sketchbook out. She flipped through the book, carefully, trying to find a blank page. Britt thinks of her sketchbook like a painter sees their canvas.
Once Britt finished sketching a rough outline of Luke’s amazing facial features, she closed her book. Almost the instant her head hit the feather soft pillow; she entered the most wonderful dream with Luke in it.
Britt slept unusually sound that night.
